Support Centre Services
As well as our drop-in Information Centre and Supportive Care Programme, the Support Centre also provides the following services.
Coffee Mornings
Held on the first Tuesday of every month, the coffee mornings provide an opportunity for you to meet other people who have had similar experiences perhaps some of whom you may have met while receiving your treatment or attending one of our courses. Our volunteers are the hosts, providing tea, coffee and biscuits along with friendly conversation and, of course, our staff are available if you would like to ask advice or discuss any concerns you may have.
Headways
Just before each session of Look Good...Feel Better, Chris Frith visits us to demonstrate the service of headways.
This service shows different examples of head wear, scarves and scarf tying to those who, although experiencing hair loss, do not feel that wigs are suitable for them.
Complementary Therapies
Each Tuesday and Wednesday morning and all day on Thursday, Radiotherapy patients and their carers can enjoy a maximum of 4 short sessions of complementary therapy, provided by therapists from the Cavendish Centre.
The therapies on offer are:
- Aromatherapy
- Reflexology
- Massage
- Visualisation
- Hypnotherapy
For more information, please see the radiotherapy staff at Weston Park Hospital.
