    Karen Holmes

    Centre Manager

    Karen became  Manager of the Cancer Support Centre in 1998 and has been the driving force behind many of the changes that have taken place. Karen became a Registered Nurse in 1985 and has been involved in nursing cancer patients since 1993.  Karen works at the Centre full time.

    Margaret Harrison

    Support Co-ordinator

    Margaret joined the Centre in July 2017 and has a 17 year background of cancer nursing, initially working  as a Breast Care Clinical Nurse Specialist before moving on to work as a Lymphoedema Clinical Nurse Specialist. Margaret jointly set up and managed the Sheffield Macmillan Lymphoedema service for more than 10 years and in 2014 moved into the field of cancer education, working as a Macmillan Learning and Development Manager and Cancer Care Educator. Margaret works 3 days per week in the centre, supporting both cancer patients and staff within the Support Co-ordinator role.

    Hannah Hall

    Service Development and Information Lead

    Hannah worked as a Senior Therapy Radiographer at Weston Park Hospital for five years, graduating in 2009 with BSc (HONS) in Radiotherapy and Oncology. She joined the Cancer Support Centre team in 2014.  Hannah is dedicated to the continual development of the centre, improving local information and our services.

    Vicky Brady

    Senior Cancer Support Nurse

    Vicky joined us in 2008 from Haematology at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital where she was a staff nurse for five years.  She has comprehensive experience in caring for cancer patients and in particular, their families.  Vicky works full time and as Senior Support Nurse at the Centre, she oversees the support groups for patients and carers as well as being able to offer “one to one” support.

    Anne Crofts

    Senior Cancer Support Nurse

    Anne qualified in 1977 and has gained a wide variety of experience in nursing cancer patients and supporting their families.  In particular she has worked for seven years, specialising as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in upper gastro-intestinal (stomach and oesophageal) cancers.  She joined our Centre in 2015 as a Senior Support Nurse.

    Anne is running the York 10k in August 2017 to raise money for some new auricular acupuncture chairs for the Centre.

    Fran Ball

    Information and Support Nurse

    Fran qualified as a Nurse in 1999 and joined us from the Head and Neck Unit at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in March 2013.  She brings with her 13 years experience of working with Head and Neck patients, these include ophthalmology, maxillary facial and ENT (Ear Nose & Throat).  Fran works at the Centre three days a week.

    Sarah Saunby

    Centre Administrator

    Sarah joined the Centre in April 2016.  She started her career as an adult staff nurse, had a break to raise a family and has worked in the Third Sector since then, for over 11 years.

    Sarah works 3 days per week in the busy Admin office, providing an administrative service for the Centre.

    Vicky Butcher

    Administration Assistant

    Vicky recently joined the Centre in April 2015, after working in the Admissions Department at Sheffield City College for 14 years.  Vicky works full time in the busy Admin office at the Centre, helping with a variety of admin tasks, including organising the Look Good Feel Better pamper workshop.

    Pamela Dutton

    Support Worker

    Pamela started working at Weston Park Hospital in 1990 as a Domestic Assistant and joined the Centre in 2000, becoming a Support Worker in 2002.  Pamela works four days a week and will welcome you into the Centre, handing out information to patients, carers and relatives, as well as having a chat with a cup of coffee!  Pamela also enjoys crafts and runs the Craft Afternoon on a Wednesday afternoon.

     

    Fiona Ball

    Support Worker

    Fiona started working at Weston Park Hospital in 1987 as a Support Worker, joining the Centre in 1999.  Fiona works three days a week and will welcome you into the Centre, handing out information to patients, carers and relatives, as well as having a chat with a cup of coffee!  Fiona is also involved with the Brain Tumour Support Group on a Monday afternoon, helping with craft activities, quizzes and games.

    Gill Reynolds

    Volunteer Coordinator

    Gill joined the Centre in Oct 2017, having previously worked with volunteers within a mental health charity. She recruits and manages volunteers for both the Centre and outreach projects. Gill works three days a week.
